Every year on 10th March, Tibetans all over the world commemorate the day
as "National Uprising Day". In 2000 lapes the 41th year since the brutal
suppression of unarmed Tibetan revolt by the Red Chinese in Lhasa in 1959.
Tens and thousands of Tibetan refugees have crossed over the border along
with their Temporal and Spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, who is now
residing in India. During the last three decades the demand of Tibetans
for their fundamental human rights and self determination has been passed
into the deaf-ear of nations of the world consequently the sinicisation
and destruction of Tibet continues.
